MODERN HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK ELECTRICAL/COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

This course is designed to provide refresher training on automotive electrical system troubleshooting and use of tools as well as introducing CAN Bus and LIN communication systems currently in use on modern heavy-duty trucks.

The course will address the following objectives:

• Use of electrical diagnostic tools
• Refresher training on parallel and series circuits
• Refresher training on utilizing OHMS Law, Kirchoff’s Law, and Watts Law as they now apply to CAN Bus communication systems
• Introduction and explanation of the standardized J1939 and 1708 connectors utilized in Heavy-Duty Trucks
• Electrical trouble shooting and root cause analysis
